Wish Karl, Amy and Michael luck as they do the Great North Run for charity

On 11th September, three runners from the Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café will travel to Newcastle to take part in the biggest half marathon in the world!

Farmer Karl, Amy Cook and Michael Kipling will join 60,000 runners for the 13.1 mile (21 km) race that is famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions of pounds raised for good causes.

Karl and Amy are raising money for cancer charities (Cancer Research and Macmillan respectively) whilst Michael’s running to raise funds for British Heart Foundation.

Karl said: “Sadly, like so many people, we have been touched by cancer. Mandy and I have lost parents and close family to cancer; friends have bravely fought the battle and thankfully defeated it, and we hope that by the time our grandsons grow up, with more investment into research, many more people will be cured and cancer will become a thing of the past. There really is no time to lose.”

The trio are also holding a series of fundraising events and has already smashed Kark’s original target of £500. If you would like to support the team, you can donate here:

Good luck, team Cedarbarn!
