We’re over the moon to win FOUR prestigious regional food awards

Unprecedented success at the Deliciouslyorkshire food awards

16 members of our close-knit team had an amazing night at the Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards recently and were over the moon to come home from the event with an amazing four food awards, including a coveted Local Food Hero Award.

We were presented with awards for our home-grown strawberries in the Best Fresh Produce category, Scotch Egg with Yorkshire Black Pudding in the Best Ready to Eat category, Best Use of Local Produce on a Menu and the Local Food Hero at a glittering ceremony in Harrogate.

Cedarbarn’s co-founder, Mandy said:  “The last 18 months have been incredibly challenging for many businesses, but our amazing team rose to every challenge that we set them and helped us to flex our business to provide food and drink for the local community.

“We’re incredibly proud of all four of our awards, but the Local Food Hero award is extra special as it was decided by a public vote and is testament to the value that people place on our homegrown produce, our home reared meat and our fabulous team.”

Commenting on the Local Food Hero award, the judging panel, comprising industry experts including chefs, broadcasters, writers and buyers, said: “Karl and Mandy were applauded for their food and hospitality as well as their passion for farming and supporting the local community. Their shop and café sell and serve an array of homegrown or locally sourced goods, aiming to promote impeccable provenance and to be as eco-friendly as possible.”
