Introducing our very special new train, the James Cook
Two very important people were among the first to ride on our beautiful new train, the James Cook a couple of weeks ago.
They were James’s Dad, Gray and James’s son, Harry and it was hard to tell who enjoyed the ride more.
Many of you will have known Mandy and Karl’s nephew, James from his summers working at Cedarbarn: he loved the farm, tractors and tinkering with machinery, and was instrumental in building our ever-popular miniature railway in 2016.
James passed away last year, aged just 31, and our new engine is named after him as a lasting legacy in honour of this kind and gentle man.
After the ride, James’s wife, Jennifer said: “Gray enjoyed himself, Harry thought it was fantastic, and he told me all evening that he put daddy’s train to bed with grandad. It was really special for me and I’m sure Harry’s going to treasure this as he grows up and starts to understand that daddy helped to build it. x”
Keep your eyes peeled on our socials for information about a fundraising family fun day in James’s honour next year.
