On the Farm!

Lambing

Lambing time is probably our busiest period of the year on the farm, and our beautiful Charolais Cross lambs are born during one of two lambing seasons. The first is in January, which means that we have tender, juicy lamb ready for you to enjoy in time for the traditional Easter feast. The second lambing season takes place in March and lasts for two to three weeks - tiring but happy work! By doing this we ensure that there's lovely home-reared lamb available for you all year round.

The lambs are produced by our flock of 55 Lleyn ewes, a breed we selected especially for its natural motherly instinct, crossed with our two pedigree Charolais rams. If you visit the farm in spring you'll be able to see some of our lambs in a special pen just outside the shop and café. It's always such a lovely sight, and makes us feel as if winter is over and summer is on the way at last!
